A Message on behalf of the Faculty

I am deeply sorry that I am unable to be with you today, to mourn with you and remember Professor David Colman. Dave was an American original. He was a dedicated scientist, resolute in his conviction that a better world is waiting for Biology to discover. He was a visionary director who made it his mission to erase lines between the research and clinical domains so that in the Neuro, and in this “health city,” the two could better work as one.
Together with the giants Wilder Penfield, Sir William Osler, the Rockefellers, the Molsons, Warren Chippindale, and more, David Colman has joined the pantheon of those who built the Neuro into the world-class institution it is. He will not be forgotten.
Dave Colman was my friend, a unique man with a remarkable style that allowed so many to be his friend so easily.
Our thoughts are with Dr. Colman’s family, friends and colleagues, and all those whose lives have been touched by this extraordinary man.
