Dr. Gabriel Leonard is a clinical scientist
and he coordinates the MNH neuropsychology outpatient service. Current
research projects include examining the long-term consequences of prenatal
exposure to maternal cigarette smoking on brain structure, function and
mental health in adolescence; Longitudinal study of brain maturation and
cognitive development in teenagers combining several brain mapping approaches
(collaboration with Tomas Paus); Magnetic resonance imaging of multiple
sclerosis and associated cognitive profiles (collaboration with Doug Arnold
and Louis Collins). Dr. Leonard is active in test development and is
establishing normative data for a new computerized device to measure simple
and complex hand and arm movements (N=2000). He is collaborating with Drs
Clarke, Pike and Appenzeller to examine the cognitive consequences of
systemic Lupus
