
Michel Aubé is a neurologist specializing in the
origins and treatment of migraine, Parkinson's Disease and epilepsy. His
expertise is a result of almost 40 years of clinical practice and research at
the Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital. In the past decade, he has
collaborated on several research projects. These include determining the rate
of serotonin synthesis in the human brain during migraine, evaluating
neuropsychological functions in migraine patients, and identifying genes that
are implicated in migraine attacks with aura. He also served as a
co-investigator in a five-year project to create the Canadian Headache
Outpatient Registry and Database. Over the years, he has trained numerous
medical residents and received several teaching awards. His medical resident
teaching includes courses on migraine diagnosis, migraine pathogenesis and
medication overuse. Dr. Aubé has also served as a consultant for the Quebec
College of Physicians, and as a member of several advisory boards and
university and hospital committees. In 2009, he was awarded the Prix
Reconnaissance by the Quebec Association of Neurologists, and the Montreal
Neurological Institute's Life Achievement Award.
