Dr. Douglas Arnold is a neurologist with special expertise in MRI. He uses MRI to assess the nervous system injury and repair that occur in neurological diseases such as multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer's disease. Dr. Arnold combines computerized image processing techniques with conventional and novel MRI acquisition techniques such as magnetization transfer imaging, magnetic resonance spectroscopy and diffusion weighted imaging to quantify injury and repair of myelin and neurons, and to assess the effects of new therapies.
