The Neuro Team

Dr. William Feindel, retired neurosurgeon and former MNI director, works with colleagues in cognitive neuroscience, brain imaging, neuroradiology and neuropathology in a multi-factorial study of patients treated for temporal lobe seizures. This project is pointing to the significance of the amygdala and the entorhinal cortex as regions that must be surgically removed to obtain satisfactory control of seizures. Dr. Feindel also collaborates on a project conducted by Dr. Fred Andermann that relates to the role of the amygdala in the volumetric analysis of atrophy in patients with temporal lobe seizures.
